Hi, my name is mostlynick and I specialize in one-button macros to help me facilitate my addiction for multiboxing.
As with other classes, I also multibox and extensively macro PvE rotations for rogues.
Requirements:
GSE and SuperDuperMacro (SDM) addons, available at https://yggdrasilwow.com/page/downloads
Positioning and targeting is managed through follow/assist mechanics for multiboxing with the rogue as a slave character
Focus the tank or desired threat recipient for Tricks of the Trade targeting. Note: When focusing the tank, avoid following them during raid content as the rogue will take cleave damage and die
SDM Macro:
/follow [@focus]
/assist [@focus]
/startattack
/castsequence [combat] reset=combat,target Sinister Strike,null
/click [combat] 5318
/stopmacro [nocombat]
/use [combat] 13
/use [combat] 14
/cast !Shoot
Note: Replace !Shoot with !Throw if using a thrown weapon. This enables automatic ranged weapon usage during encounters like BQL air phase.
GSE Macro (name: 5318):
/castsequence Sinister Strike, Sinister Strike, Sinister Strike, Slice and Dice, Sinister Strike, Sinister Strike, Sinister Strike, Eviscerate, Sinister Strike, Sinister Strike, Sinister Strike, Eviscerate
/cast Blade Flurry
/castsequence Adrenaline Rush, Sinister Strike, Eviscerate, Sinister Strike, Sinister Strike, Eviscerate, Sinister Strike, Sinister Strike
/cast [@focus,exists][@party1] Tricks of the Trade
Concluding notes:
- Poisons: It is possible to have GSE apply poisions. If this is desirable, I would recommend a /use (posion name) listed some 5-10 times, then place your weapons on your bars, and do a /click for the button name. Pulling up /framestack will show the button name to be used in macros. Just hammering this in GSE with a [nocombat] tag will ensure that poisons are applied whenever they are not on, as long as the toon is not in combat. I do not use this myself as it will not reapply intelligently in combat, meaning for example that poisons tend to run out in the middle of boss fights.
- Combo points: As with cats, rogues rely on combo points, This will never be an optimal class to macro. Throwing in a manual Sinister Strike here and there if 3 in a row don’t give 5 Combo Points could be helpful.
- Killing Spree: The only main Combat spell not in these macros is Killing Spree, since it will make the rogue jump out of alignment and more often than not return to an erroneous positioning after the jumping ends. If you control your toon manuall, consider adding it to the GSE section as a separate /cast line. I would recommend using Killing Spree manually, however.
- Tricks of the Trade targeting: If you have no one focused, the macro will not fail - it will instead trick to the lowest number group member (ordered in which direction other players joined the group). However, if you have a focus the focus dies, tricking will stop. Depending on how you want to manage the focus, a /focus @mouseover or checking if the focus is alive or not before trying @party1 may be useful.
Hope you find this useful. Good luck in your macroing adventures!
