Hi, my name is mostlynick and I specialize in one-button macros to help me facilitate my addiction for multiboxing.
When I multibox with my mage, I often run a one-button arcane DPS macro as it’s just lots more macro-friendly than fire will ever be. In an ideal world where the mage stands still, I’d wager its performance is some 90-95% that of my manual DPS. The big drawback of using this macro setup, however, is that the mana consumption is more erratic and many casts get hampered or uptime reduced by movement, especially as a slave toon. Either way, here we go:
Requirements:
- Arcane mage requires substantial stationary positioning for optimal performance due to extended channeling sequences.
- This build necessitates a macro extension addon capable of handling extended macro lengths - I recommend SuperDuperMacro (SDM), available for download at https://yggdrasilwow.com/page/downloads
Macro:
/cast [exists,dead] reset=20 Conjure Mana Gem,null
/castsequence reset=60 [@player] Molten Armor,Arcane Intellect,null
/stopmacro [channeling][dead]
/castsequence [nocombat] reset=combat Ice Lance,null
/castsequence [nochanneling:Arcane Missiles,nochanneling:Evocation] reset=150 Mana Shield(Rank 1),
Arcane Blast,Arcane Blast,Arcane Blast,Arcane Blast,Arcane Missiles,
Arcane Blast,Arcane Blast,Arcane Blast,Arcane Blast,Arcane Missiles,
Arcane Blast,Arcane Blast,Arcane Blast,Arcane Blast,Arcane Missiles
/cast [combat,nochanneling] Icy Veins
/cast [combat,nochanneling] Arcane Power
/castsequence [combat,nochanneling] reset=80 Presence of Mind,Presence of Mind,Presence of Mind,Evocation
/cast [combat,nochanneling] Mirror Image
/use [combat,nochanneling] 13
/use [combat,nochanneling] 14
/use [combat,nochanneling] Mana Sapphire
/castsequence [combat,nochanneling] !Shoot,!Shoot
/cast [nocombat] Conjure Refreshment
/castsequence [nocombat] reset=3 Conjured Mana Strudel,null
Additional Notes:
Buffs and Consumables: The macro handles self-buffing automatically, conjures food during idle periods, and maintains mana gem availability
Uptime: The macro includes wanding functionality as a fallback when mana reserves are depleted
Pulling: To ensure that the mage does not attempt to start casting Arcane Blast while positioning during the initial pull, the macro starts with an Ice Lance as a convenient and cheap instant cast. This may be swapped out for Arcane Barrage if you have it specced.
Specialization Considerations: Depending on your talent specialization and mana pool capacity, you may need to adjust the Mana Shield to a higher rank (to maximize spell power gains through Incanter’s Absorption) or remove it entirely
Hope you find this useful. Good luck in your macroing adventures!
